Our History
Tennacor Canada Inc. was formed January 1993, to serve the fire protection and water delivery equipment needs of industrial and municipal fire departments across Canada.
Early on, we worked with a local Canadian manufacturer, to design and develop firefighter turn-out gear (bunker gear) to the highest government and third party standards. Once developed, we successfully marketed and supplied the turn-out gear to major fire departments across Canada such as, City of Vancouver, City of Edmonton, City of Regina and numerous industrial clients.
In addition to our turn-out gear offering, we also supplied various pieces of fire protection equipment and consumables such as hose, foam, gloves, boots, helmets, fittings, etc. We also took on the role of Manufacturers Representatives for a number of consumable safety products that were stocked and sold by distributors in western Canada.
By the mid 90's, we expanded our product offering to include more industrial equipment such as fire monitors (cannons), deluge valves, and fire fighting foam to tailor our offerings on the industrial side.
By the early 2000's, we had seen a tremendous growth in our industrial client base. Our focus was now shifting to become their leading supplier of fire and water delivery equipment. To be successful at this, we recognized the need for timely supply of items with the highest standard of product integrity and traceability. This meant that we were involved in every step of the bidding, procurement and supply process which included; vendors, engineers, contractors, and various contacts at the end-user.
Our industrial projects were mainly on the supply side at this time, and we worked closely and supplied many elevated fire monitors and deluge valves to client's such as: Syncrude, Suncor, Shell, Petro-Canada etc.
Our experience with the requirements of the industrial end-user, led us to bid on and be awarded a turn-key project at Suncor Firebag Stage 1. This project included building and area fire protection systems that we utilized market leading sub-contractors and our on-site management to deliver the project on time and on budget.
Fast forward to 2006, our company went through a major management change. The management change was in our founder, Lorne Annett, retiring after more than 35 years in the fire protection equipment industry. Lorne had started Tennacor out of his home in 1993, and was instrumental in growing the company, while aligning Tennacor's values with our customers and vendors, to put us to where we are at today.
Tennacor Canada Inc. is now celebrating over 17 years of continued service. The principals of the company, Brad Annett & Scott Annett, are focused on positioning Tennacor as "the unparalleled leader in the supply of industrial fire protection & water delivery equipment in Canada".
