Tennacor offers industrial fire monitors (cannons), nozzles and the engineering support services that can equip oil and gas facilities with even the most stringent fire protection requirements. With Tennacor's fire monitor solutions, you can increase safety by providing immediate fire suppression in emergency situations and maximize shareholder value by limiting loss to fire.

Fire Monitors are aimable controllable high-capacity water jet cannons used for manual or automatic fire protection systems. Intended to deliver large quantities of water or a water-foam mixture over a large area in a relatively short period of time. Fixed mounted fire monitors can be directed by a single firefighter, compared to a standard fire hose which normally requires several. Fire Monitors can also be automatically positioned for fixed systems. They can flow up to, and sometimes over, 10,000 gallons per minute.

Fire Monitors are designed to work with potable water, foam, and seawater. Our fire monitor range includes: Station Monitors, Hydrant Mounted Monitors, Remote Control Monitors, Free Standing Elevated Monitors, Supported Elevated Monitors, Portable Monitors and Oscillating Monitors. Fire Monitors come in various waterway sizes from 1-1/2" all the way up to 10" in diameter and come with various inlet configurations and sizes such as; threaded, 150# or 300# raised or flat face flanged, etc.

On the outlet side of the Fire Monitor, a nozzle is installed to direct and control the water stream as necessary. Generally, there are two types of nozzles that are used; a fog nozzle or a straight stream (smooth bore) nozzle. A fog nozzle is a firefighting nozzle that breaks the water that flows through it into tiny droplets of water. The theory is that small droplets of water create more surface area than a solid stream created by a smooth bore nozzle. The water absorbs the heat, turns into steam, and displaces the oxygen, smothering the fire. Straight stream (smooth bore) nozzles are used in situations where there is a need to achieve maximum water stream distance. Other variations of the two types of nozzles include; selectable gallonage, adjustable pressure, foam eductor and nozzles with built-in streamshapers.

Tennacor has extensive experience supplying fire monitors and nozzles to the Canadian market. We can provide your engineers and your project with technical information such as pressure/flow/distance and stream trajectory calculations to ensure you receive the right fire monitor and nozzle combination for your specific application.
